Well, North Carolina decided to be generous yesterday and gave us a beautiful high of 61 degrees, so after nap time, we walked to the playground. It really isn't far, less than half a mile. I noticed a limp shortly after getting there, but pushed through. And that is where the overdoing it part comes in...
After dragging my left leg behind me all last night, skipping my leg weights, and taking 2 ibuprofen, my husband informs me that he thinks my walking "long" distance days are over for a while. Long distances?! I feel like an 29 year old in an 80 year old body. Since when did half a mile become long distance? Learning my limits has been so hard for me. My mind wants to keep going, but my leg holds me back.
I know the recovery will be long and I may never be able to run again, but if I can walk the mall without feeling like I need a wheelchair later, this will be worth it!
