Week 16 and things are right on schedule. I am feeling more like myself each day, but still have a long road of physical therapy to get my leg back in shape.
Yesterday was my 16 week appointment with Dr. Olson. I was so pleased with the things he had to say! Here are the major points from our meeting:
- The bone is healing perfectly.
-It is STILL broken where the pubis meets the acetabulum, but there is bone bridging, which means it is coming together!
- My poas is still tight, but looks better than at my 8 week appointment. I got a new script for pt, and with unlimited visits, I will be going for as long as I need to get this muscle back to good!
-If my psoas continues to be sore and stiff, I can call and come in for an injection. Not my idea of fun. I'd rather stick it out with a tight muscle!
-I can begin swimming and outdoor cycling. No running (Which wouldn't be very pretty anyway!).
At this point in time, I am feeling better than I did in October, when I was first diagnosed with hip dysplasia and a torn labrum. I would say, for as long as this journey has been, it was totally worth it!
